klassykevin: Wait why is this so true I’ve been watching documentaries and reports of other countries, and although we (the United States) are the richest, we are ranked unusually low for overall individual happiness (including categories from “How rested are you today?” to “Are you regularly treated with respect?”) Why are countries in Latin America the happiest? It’s because they relax now, as in right now. They do everyday the things we work our entire lives to finally “earn.” The story of the toiling American man who works hard for 30-40 years  to finally enjoy kayaking on the lake every morning during his retirement is starkly juxtaposed to the Latin American man who kayaked every morning for the past 30-40 years, pointing to the north and laughing at the American man who is seen punching away at codes on a computer in his mediocre wage, 100% mind-numbing “career.”
